UC Berkeley Birge Hall Utilities Upgrade
The Birge Hall project constitutes an MEP upgrade for a 6–story building of 160,000 sq. ft. on the University of California, Berkeley campus. The project scope included extensively retrofitting the base building mechanical ventilation and fume hood exhaust systems, adding energy efficient heat pumps for space conditioning and updating the process cooling system. The electrical system upgrade included a complete replacement of the building transformers and substation. The electrical grounding system was revamped to allow for sensitive experiments to be conducted without risk of interruption or interference.
