Karbala is a city built around the Twin Shrines of Mashad Al- Husain and Mashad Al-Bass and lies 110 km southwest of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. The hospital design references the significance of the shrines and provides state-of-the-art medical services for the use of the local population and by worshippers that visit Karbala.
The project is designed to meet LEED Gold Certification through the implementation of energy efficient systems.
