NOGA Office tower is located on a peninsula of reclaimed land which is part of the Bahrain Financial Harbour development in Manama. The tower houses the headquarters of the National Oil and Gas Authority in Bahrain as well as leasable office spaces. The design uses a rotating octagon plan to create a highly articulated façade of triangular sunshades that reduce the energy load by minimizing solar gain. The design aesthetic blends references to Islamic geometric patterns with those of natural forms to symbolize the origins of oil, the most significant natural product of this region and the focus of NOGA’s activities.
